Belisarius tries to rally his two routed units, but only succeeds with Sunicas's Huns. He then moves up a few supporting units and counterattacks with what units he can scrape up, and succeeds in routing two Persian LN. Due to ZOC restrictions, one LN is forced to rout "backward", hoping to get around Bouzes and then finally back to the Persian rout edge.
The HC's missile fire missed (dr '8') which was unfortunate for the Romans, as the one hit would have routed the LN and saved the HC two hits. Since the unit was forced to shock attack after all, it took two hits in melee plus another going uphill during advance after combat.
Current Rout Point totals:
| Side | Current | Limit | Pct |
|---|---|---|---|
| Persians | 53 | 109 | 49% |
| Byzantines | 45 | 102 | 44% |
On to Simmias -- the only initiative 3 leader that can do anything this turn!
