The Unholy Luck of Barasames ("unholy" from the Byzantine point of view, anyway) continues as Bouzes fails his Trump attempt (dr='9', not even close).
I recently realized that keeping the results of Trump attempts secret would enhance the realism of the game. For example, if I kept the Trump attempt secret, than Barasames wouldn't know whether Bouzes would move later on in the turn. Any objections to running the game accordingly in future turns?
Barasames rallies the two routed lancers (more unholy luck, drs='0' and '0'), moves up an LI, and then has the LC and LN shock attack the LC under Sunicas.
At last the stock of Persian '0's runs out and Sunicas survives unscathed.
Which is nice for the Byzantines, as his Charisma reduces the shock dieroll to '0', giving a 3(2) result doubled to 3(4) because LN is attack superior to LC. The LN and Byzantine LC exceed their TQ and hence rout, the LN going through a just-rallied lancer and giving it three more hits (TQ Check dr='9')!
The Persian LC advances. Bouzes' reaction fire naturally rolls a '9' and the CAT are Missile Low.
(Yes, I'm using standard ten-sided dice and I do shake them before rolling!)
Current Rout Point totals:
| Side | Current | Limit | Pct |
|---|---|---|---|
| Persians | 53 | 109 | 49% |
| Byzantines | 23 | 102 | 23% |
Barsames rolls for Momentum again, and, needless to add, gets it (dr='3' for a change of pace). Still possible for the Byzantines to Trump. Will they?
