The Saracens continue their harassing fire, without much effect. A single LN, no longer able to continue the waiting game, charges the enemy line.
Fortuna, who has rather tilted towards the Persians in matters of command, suddenly withdraws her favors. The LN takes a hit for entering a higher elevation, attacks on the rather poor '4' column (base 6, 1L for size, 1L for defender on higher elevation) and rolls the dreaded '0' -- four more hits for the LN, one each for the two Byzantines. Now within one hit of routing and still in enemy ZOC, the LN rolls for Collapse . . . and gets a '9'. Back to home base for the Lancers.
