Sleeping bags sized to fit Beanie Babies by Ty

Size in brackets {} to fit the Teeny Beanie Babies by Ty available in McDonald’s Happy Meals

Supplies:
Fabric 8 by 22 inch piece {5 by 14 inches}
Ribbon 24 inches to coordinate {19 inches}
Polyfil stuffing
thread to match

1. Cut a piece of fabric 8 inches by 22 inches. ( Avoid stripes or checks unless they align well when fabric is straightened. Don’t use one way designs.) {5 by 14 inches for Teeny Beanie Baby}.

2. Turn under one edge of the 8 {5} inch side ¼ inch and stitch. Clean finish the other 8 {5} inch end by turning under ¼ inch twice and stitching.

3. On the RIGHT side of the fabric, measure 11 {7} inches up from the clean finished edge and go across to the center. Tack the center of the 24 {19} inch ribbon to this spot, using a zig zag stitch. Tie an overhand knot at each end of the ribbon or apply fray check to the ends.

4. Measure 7 ½ {4 ½} inches up from the clean finished end and press, turn the other edge down until it abuts the clean finished edge, RIGHT sides together, press second edge. Keeping ribbon out of stitching lines, sew two side seams.

5. Turn right side out. Clip corners before turning, if necessary.

6. Fill smaller of two pockets with fiberfill. Top stitch (you may need to switch to a zipperfoot) pocket with fiberfil down at open end, through both layers(this makes the pillow). You may want to zig zag over this line for added security.

7. Place your Beanie Baby into it’s sleeping bag. Tie ribbon around so he/she feels secure.

** Cut fabric 10 X 22 if you want two Beanie Babies to fit in one sleeping bag.

Enjoy!
