Trailing Arms    I'm not sure where this car was driven but I must of removed 30lbs of tar from the frame and trailing arms.   Here is a question I would love to know the answer to, all thoughts or guesses are welcome. What purpose would oil, approximately one pint, serve in the trailing arms? Any Ideas? When I pulled the plugs out of the trailing arms, BOTH castings had about a pint of oil in them. My favorite guess to date is maybe someone didn't know the castings are aluminum and thought the oil would offer rust protection. (or some sleaze ball sold it as rust proofing)    Return
