And now, a brief public service message: Cancer claims the lives of
552,000 Americans each year -- more than 1,500 people each day.
More than 1.3 million more people will be diagnosed with cancer this
year.
So
DO
SOMETHING! Start by checking with the American Cancer Society
to make a
donation and see how you can help. You should also check out, and
support, the
Lance Armstrong Foundation, dedicated to enhancing the quality of
life for those living with, through and beyond cancer. But the most
important thing you can do is to pay attention to your own health. Know
the risk factors. Learn about prevention. And see a doctor for regular
check-ups. The quicker you can catch it, the easier it's going to
be to beat it. And it CAN be beat.
