Edna had a son, LeRoy Mefford, before her marriage to Harley. LeRoy was born on September 8, 1917 and died on September 14, 1919. He is buried beside his grandfather, George W. Loughman, in the Bethel Cemetery near Phillipsburg, Ohio.
