Rebecca Adelaide Bowie, daughter of Margaret and Ethelbert Bowie, b. Apr 11,1840; d. Jun 12, 1910, Chicamuxen, Charles County, MD; m. Dec 22,1868 Edmund Ira Milstead b. May 25, 1848, Charles County, MD; d. Nov 10, 1914, Chicamuxen, Charles County, MD Both buried in Methodist (Methodist Episcopal Church South) Cemetery, Chicamuxen, MD.

Two known children:
- - | Alice Davis Milstead m. Stephen Winfield Kendrick
- - | Jesse Milstead.

[NOTE: Existing genealogies in the Bowie and Kendrick families, including those of one of her direct descendants, lists Rebecca Adelaide Bowie as Adelaide rather than Rebecca. The name Adelaide is reported from Rosemarie Hill Stewart's Census 1850 project.]

Jesse Milstead b. 1878, son of Rebecca Adelaide Bowie and Edmund Ira Milstead, m. 1902 Catherine Groves (Katy) 1884-1966. Had store and farm in Charles Co., Md.

Children:
1. Mitchell Milstead
2. Ottis Milstead (b. 1905-Chickamuxen, Md.). He married Mabel Wooster (b.1909-New Haven
Connecticut) in about 1927. They had 3 children, Beverly (b. 1929),
Roger (b. 1931), and Theda (b. 1933)---all born in Washington, D.C.
3. Edgar Milstead b. ca. 1902. m. Mattie who d. ca. 1997. 1 dau. Edgar still living in Arlington, Virginia in 2002, but recently joined his daughter in California.
4. Woodrow Milstead. d. July 21, 2002. His wife and his unmarried daughter, Rebecca, died in 2001 or 2002.
5. The Rev. Harold Milstead (Methodist). Still living in Charles Co., on the Potomac.
6. Linden Milstead

Note: The late great Baltimorean thespian David ("Divine") Milstead was in the John Waters movies such as "Hairspray" and "Pink Flamingos." Edgar once told me that Divine was a relation, but I don't know how.
