MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL Collaborative
Training
Do you have mental health professional in
your group ready to
train? Live, online trainings are available this fall.
My goal is to make training for Mental
Health professionals
more accessible. I have begun to offer Collaborative
Divorce (CD) interactive trainings live online. These
team-oriented trainings provide mental health professionals
a concentrated way to learn about the roles of each
profession in CD and to obtain comprehensive training as a
divorce coach or child specialist as well as understand the
necessary team interactions. Selected sessions also
present an overview of the ways practice groups can develop
and how effective teamwork can develop, stimulated by
featuring a panelist from other non-mental health CD
professions (law & finance).
Sessions are typically scheduled for a
half day Friday, and
concluded with a half day Saturday for each segment (CEU
credits available). Learning segments are carefully planned
to allow for both short presentations followed by an
immediate discussion and skill building activities. The segments
offer mental health professionals both coach and child specialist
training in this new distance learning interactive process, and they
allow for emphasis on a practical understanding of the roles and
interaction within the team. All of this without your having to leave
your office. For more information and registration, please go to
my website, www.trainingcda.com.
Please pass this information along to your
mental health community.

More about Pauline Tesler
Ms. Tesler practices family law in San Francisco and Mill Valley, California.
A graduate of Harvard University, the Victoria University of Manchester
(England), and the University of Wisconsin Law School, and a Fellow of the
American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, she began her legal career in the
1970s as a public interest lawyer engaging in test-case litigation on behalf
of indigent children, before entering the private practice of family law in
1981.
After years of litigation and appellate work, Ms. Tesler has become a pioneer
in expanding awareness of collaborative law in the United States and
internationally. Her practice with clients is now limited to collaborative
law, mediation, consultations, and second opinions.
Ms. Tesler is a founder of the Bay Area Collaborative Law Group and of the International
Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and founding co-editor of The
Collaborative Review, the first publication in the United States to focus on
this powerful new dispute-resolution option. Ms. Tesler writes and speaks
frequently about collaborative law in the United States, Canada, and Europe,
and trains and mentors lawyers in how to achieve the "paradigm
shift" required for effective collaborative law practice.
When we first started our group in 2002, all members were required to read
Pauline's book, "Collaborative Law," published by the ABA. She has
recently published a new edition, and we will be sending out more information
on it.
