- 1. Erc, King of Dalrieda (County of Antrim in Ulster), d. ca. 474. Erc
had several sons, of whom Loarn, Fergus and Angus settled Dalrieda (Argyle)
in Scotland in 496.
- 2. Fergus the Great, son of Erc, crossed from Dalrieda in Ireland over
into Scotland in the year 496, and became the first King of the Dalriad
Scots, 496-499,
- 3. Domangart, King of Scots, 499-504; m. Fedelimia, dau. of Eochy Mlogmedon,
King of Ireland.
- 4. Gavran, son of Domangart, King of Scots 538-560.
- 5. Aidan, son of Gavran, was crowned by his kinsman, St. Columba, 574;
declared the independence of his kingdom at the council of Drumcreat in
Ireland, 575; was defeated by Aethelfrith, King of Bernicia, and d. 606/8.

- 7. Donald I Breck, King of Scots, 629-642; a promoter of Christianity.
- 8. Domangart, son of Donald Breck and father of Eochy Hook Nose; did

- 10, Ed-Fin, King of Scots, 748-778.
- 11. Eochy-Annuine, King of Scots, 814-827; possibly he m. the only dau.
of Alpin, son of Wroid, King of the Picts, 775-779, which would account
for the name of Alpin among the names of the Kings of the Scots.
- 12, Alpin, King of Scots, 834-837, was slain in Galloway, 837.
- 13. Kenneth MacAlpin, King of Scots, 844-859, invaded Lothian six times,
burned Dunbar, took possession of Melrose; died of a Fistula, 13 Feb. 859/60.
He is said to have called a parliament.
- 14, Constantine I, king of Scots, 863-877; slain by the Norwegians in
battle, buried at Iona,
- 15, Donald II, King of Scots, 889-900,
- 16, Malcolm McDonald, King of Scots, 942-954; received Cumberland and
Westmoreland from King Edmund I of England.
- 17, Kenneth II MacMalcolm, King of Scots. 971-995; harried Lothian and
carried off the King of the Saxons; was murdered 994/5.
- 18, Malcolm II MacKenneth, King of Scots 1005-1034; fought a battle
in 1008 at Carham with Uchtred, d. 1016, son of Waltheof, Earl of the Northumbrians,
and overcame the Danes, 1017; published a code of laws; was murdered 25
Nov. 1034
- 19. Bethoc, apparently the only child of Malcolm MacKenneth, m. 1000,
Crinan the Thane, b. 978, d@ 1045, Lay Abbot of Dunkeld, Governor of the
Scots Islands
- 20. Duncan I MacCrinan, King of Scots. 1034-1040;
murdered by Macbeth near Elgin, 14 Aug. 1040; m. a dau. of Siward, Danish
Earl of Northumbria. He besieged Durham, 1035.
- 21. Malcolm Canmore III, King of Scots, 1058-1093, b. 1031, crowned
at Scone, 17 Mar, 1057/8; slain while besieging Alnwick Castle, 13 Nov.
1093; m. (1) Ingibord, dau. of Earl Finn Arnason,
and widow of Thorfill Sigurdson, Earl of Orkney; m. (2)
1068/9, Margaret (8-22), St. Margaret of Scotland, d. 16 Nov. 1093, dau.
of Prince Edward the Exile and a descendant of Alfred the Great, Clovis
I, Cerdic and Hengist, and ancestress of the royal line of England.
- 22. David I, the Saint, b. ca. 1080, d. 24 May 1154, King of Scots,
23 Apr. 1124-1153; m, 1113/4, Maud (58-24), Countess
of Huntingdon, d. 1130/1, a descendant of Alfred the Great and Charlemagne
