WHERE WE WORK: Crouch & Crouch primarily serves Northern Virginia -- Fairfax, Arlington, Loudoun, Prince William, Stafford and Fauquier Counties, and the cities of Alexandria, Falls Church and Fairfax. In interstate and international child custody cases, clients and attorneys from all over the world consult with us, usually in cases that are partially in Virginia courts or involve Virginia law or the Hague Convention on International Child Abduction.
WHO WE ARE: Richard Crouch and John Crouch are the active members of the firm.
Richard Crouch is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, was the original Editor of the Family Law Reporter for the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA), and edits the Virginia State Bar's Family Law News. He is a Neutral Case Evaluator for the Fairfax Circuit Court. Formerly he chaired the State Bar's Disciplinary Committee for Virginia's largest district. He is available as an expert witness and as an advocate in disciplinary hearings. Richard Crouch began his legal career with Crouch & Crouch in 1964 before joining the U. S. Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps. Member of the National Lawyers Association; the International Society of Family Law; Virginia Trial Lawyers Association; Arlington, Fairfax, Virginia and American Bar Associations. Richard Crouch worked extensively on codes of ethics for divorce mediators and is the Virginia reporter for the A.B.A. Family Law Section's Family Law in the Fifty States program. He has served on several State Bar Family Law Section Committees and on the A.B.A. Family Law Section's Task Force on Federal Legislation, and has co-chaired the A.B.A.'s Custody Committee. John Crouch is a 1995 law graduate of the College of William and Mary, where he was legal columnist and production editor for the Amicus Curiae. Mr. Crouch is Secretary/Treasurer of the Collaborative Law Society. He co-chaired the Child Custody Committee of the American Bar Association's Family Law Section from 1999 to 2001, and also serves on its International Law Committee and on the Advisory Committee of its Child Custody Pro Bono Project. He currently chairs an ad hoc ABA committee which is drafting Standards for Child Representation in Custody Cases. He formerly served on the ABA Family Law Section's Continuing Legal Education Committee. He was the 1999-2000 Chairman of the Arlington County Bar Association Family Law Section, and serves on the Association's Lawyer Referral Service committee. He is also a member of the International Society of Family Law, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the National Lawyers Association and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. He was formerly a National Park Ranger and a Court-Appointed Special Advocate in the Newport News Juvenile Court. Articles
Thomas Gordon Crouch, retired, practiced in Arlington for many years, specializing in tax law, wills and estates, and died in 2004. Ralph Waldo Crouch died in 1968.
