Return to Tyrrell Co Wills Introduction & Table of ContentsIn the name of God amen: I Mary Norman of the County of Tyrrell and State of North Carolina being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory praised be the Almighty, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner following Viz. First I give and recommend my soul to God my Maker and my body to be buryed in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executors, and as for such worldly goods as it hasth pleased God to bestow upon me I give and bequeath the same in manner following Viz.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son-in-law Daniel Garrett one shilling sterling as a bar against any other part of my Estate.
Item - I give and bequeath to my ( ? ) Jeremiah Davenport one quart pot & hooks & tramel & one chest.
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Keziah Norman one small case of bottles, two quart basons and one cow and one mare named Fanay and Ewe.
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Susanna Norman one large case of bottles and two Chaney plates and one pewter plate and one pewter bason and two pair of cards and one Siver, and one feather bed and furniture that has been call'd hers and two sows.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Joel Norman one feather bed & some furniture and one cow and calf.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son James Norman one feather bed & some furniture and one mare which he has now in possession.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Simeon Norman one feather bed and some furniture and three head of cattle that are called his.
Item - I give and bequeath to my daughter Priscilla Norman, one small pot and pewter dish and plate and quart bason and one chest and one cow and calf that is called her's and one cow besides.
Item - I give and bequeath to my son Jeremiah Normah one feather bed and furniture one small gun and five head of cattle and six chairs one pewter dish and bason, two plows, two hoes, and two axes, one honey tub and molasses tub, one churn, and one sugar bucket two muggs, two bowls four junk bottles three cyder barrels.
Item - I give and bequeath to my grandson Jeremiah Garrett one heifer and one pewter dish.
Item - I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Anne Garret one feather bed and furniture -
Item - I give and bequeath to my grand son Enoch Garrett one heifer and one pewter dish -
Item - I give and bequeath to my two daughters Susanna and Priscillia Norman one horse named Prince to be equally divided between them -
Item - My Will and Desire is that all my Estate that is not heretofore mentioned in Legacy be equally divided amongst my children Zeruiah Kiziah, Susanna Joel James Simeon and Jeremiah Norman. And I do hereby nominate ordain and appoint my three sons Joel James & Simeon Norman Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and disannull all former and other Wills by me made hereby ratitying and allowing this to be my last Will and Testament. In Testimony whereof I have signed, sealed and published this as my last Will and Testament this fifteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven.
