In the name of God Amen ye ninetenth day of februay in ye yeare of our Lord 1742/3 I John Man of ye provance of North Carolina and County of Tyrrill planter being very ailding and weak in body but of perfict mind and memory thanks be given unto God therfore calling unto mind ye mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my Last Will and testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul to ye hands of God that give it and for my body I recommend it to ye Earth to be buried in a Christain like maner at ye discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at yhe general Resirrecttion I shall receove ue sa,e agaom by ye mighty power of God and touching such worldy Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life. I give devise and dispose of ye same in ye following manner and form.

First I will that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and satisfid by my executors in a conveant time after my deceas

Item - I give devise and bequeath unto my son John Man and his heirs one Shilling Starling.

Item - I give devise and bequeath unto my son Willliam Man ye half of that lurvay of land calld by ye name of Godfryes to him his heirs and assigns forever

Item - I give and bequeath unto my son Theophadas Man that lurvay of land on the south side of Mesue Creek knone by ye name of Volle Island to him and his heirs and assigns forever.

Item - I give and bequeath unto my son Edward Man ye sothermost parte of my maner plantation beginning at a black walnut tree neare ye south side and runing neare southwest to ye hed of ye line to him and his heirs and assigns forever.

Item - I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Man a sartain parsell of land joyning to my son Edward on ye southside of his land contains aboute two hundred achors more or less to him and his heirs and assigns forever.

Item - I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Man ye other part of my maner plantation beginning at ye black walnut tree joyning on Edward Mans plantation and runing notherly on ye sound side to a Siprurs pond to him his heirs and assigns forever.

Item - I give and bequeath unto my five sons William Theophalus Edward Thomas and Joseph all ye rest of my lands on Roneoak and Croatan to be eaqually devided betwext them to them and there heirs and assigns forever.

Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Dorrity _uel(?) One shilling Starling.

Item - I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Man one Shilling Starling

Item - I give and bequeath unto my wife Margit ye use of ye half of my son Josephs plantation wich is my maner plantation during her natural life or widdowhod and likewise the thirds of all my personal Estates of goods and Chatels after my deceas and my lawfuldrbts and funaral charges being paid by my Executors.

Item - I give unto my daughter Ann Read twenty pounds lawful mony of this provance.

Item - I give will and devise that all my negros be valved by two or three honest men by my sons or ye major part of them to be chosen and that my three sons Theophlus Edward and Joseph have ye nergoras they paying unto their two brothers their proper tisenable part as ye sd nergros shall be then valued to

Item - I give and bequeath unto myfore sons Theople Edward Thomas and Joseph all ye rest of my Estate within and without of goods and chatels to be equally devided betwen them of home. I likewase constitute and ordain my three sons Theoplas Edward and Joseph to be my only and sole Executors of this my last will and testament and do heareby uterly disalow revolk and disanul all and every other former testament wills and lagacies requests and Executors by me in any way before this time med willed and bequeathed ratifide and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witnes wheare of I have heare unto set my hand and seal the day and year above writen.
