In the name of God amen: I Richard Davis of the County of Tyrrell in the State of North Carolina being sick & weak in body but of Sound mind & memory (blessed be God) do this twenty fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty two make and publish this my last will & testament in the manner & form following that is to say ---
First of all my will & desire is that all my just debts shall be well & truly paid out of my estate I then give & bequeath to my son Willis Davis one dollar to him & his heirs forever --
I then give & bequeath to my dearly beloved daughter Sally Ann Owens one feather fed & furniture & one suit of curtains to he & her heirs forever ---
I then give & bequeath to my dearly beloved daughter Elizabeth Brickhouse one dollar to her & her Heirs forever -
I then give all the remaining part of my estate real & personal to be equally divided between my two dearly beloved sons Thomas Davis & Richard Davis to them & their heirs forever.
I also ordain nominate & appoint my two well beloved sons Thomas Davis & Richard Davis Executors to this my last will & testament. I appoint Samuel Spruill Esquire & Jeremiah H. Phelps to assist my Executors in settling my Estate & be entitled to the emoluments that the law allows executors arising from such sales equally as much so as if the had been appointed executors. I acknowledge this to be my last will & Testament and no other.
