In the name of God amen: I Samuel Caswell of the State of North Carolina and Tyrell County of being in sound mind and memory blessed be to Almighty God for the same, I do here make this and certify this and make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first I give and bequeathunto my daughter Mary Hassell one bed and furniture with all other things I have lent her which she has in her possession.

I also give unto my grandaughter Catharine Brickhouse one bed and furniture which her father John Brickhouse has in possession I also give and bequeath unto John Brickhouse two shillings and six pence, I also give and bequeath unto my beloved Samuel Caswell two shillings and sixpence, I also give and bequeath unto my grandson Thomas Heggart one bed and furniture which John Bateman has in possession. I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Anne Bateman two shillings and sixpence. I also give unto my daughter Meale Bateman one bed and furniture with other things which I have lent her, I also give and bequeath unto my son Uriah Caswell one bed and furniture and other things which I have lent him, I also give my and bequeath unto my grandaughter Wes Blount one bed and furniture which is in her fatmers care. I also give unto Thomas Blount two and sixpence I also give my beloved wife Catharine Caswell one half of the land binding on Levi Bateman line I also lend her the manner Platation where I now live during her life. I also give to Uriah Caswell one half of the land and plantation after her death. I do lend unto my beloved wife the rest of my property during her natural life and after her death to be equally divided between my four children Viz: Nancy Bateman Amelia Bateman Samuel Caswell Uriah Caswell I do hereby set my hand and seal May 18th 1808.
