Dated 9 November 1820

In the name of God amen: 9th day of November in the year of our Lord 1820 I Thomas Crain in the said County being sick and weak in body, but of perfect mind & memory thanks be given to Almighty God therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body & knowing it is appointed that is to say principaly & first of all I give & recomend my soul into the hands of God that gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian like manner ---

1st - My will & desire is that my wife Elizabeth shall possess all my property as it doth now stand to her own use & disposal during life or widowhood.

2d - My will & desire is that the plantation where I now live to may two sons William Crain & John Crain.

3d - My will & desire is that my part of the land lying amongst the heirs of Benjm. Tweedy desd. to my son Thomas Crain.

4th - My will & desire that my two sons William & John Crain shall pay unto my son Thomas Crain the sum of forty dollars twenty dollars each.

5th - My will & desire is that at the marriage or death of my wife Elizabeth is to say the household furniture and stock of all kinds to be equally divided amongst my girls.

6th - My will & desire is that my farming tools equal divided amongst my three sons, William John & Thomas Crain ---

I do nominate and appoint for executors this my last will & testament my wife Elizabeth and Lemuel Basnight the 9th day of November 1820.
