Here is a draft resolution suitable for adoption by legislatures, school boards, boards of directors, various other organizations. 


                Draft Resolution To Adopt The Golden Rule
            "TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED."

   WHEREAS, This Body recognizes the need for a useful and acceptable
standard of interpersonal behavior for the people within our
jurisdiction; and
   WHEREAS, The Golden Rule has proven itself to be the most useful,
most acceptable such standard yet discovered; and
   WHEREAS, The Golden Rule can also be expressed in any of the following
ways:

   1. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
   2. "Treat others as you want to be treated."
   3. "Treat other people the way you would like to be treated."
   4. "Treat other people the way you want to be treated."
   5. "Whatever you want people to do to you, do that to them."

  THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That we hereby adopt The Golden Rule
as the fundamental standard of interpersonal behavior for all people
within our jurisdiction; and we urge all people everywhere likewise to
adopt The Golden Rule as their own.
