WITNESSES WILL MULTIPLY PERSONAL DESTRUCTION

   Dear Senator:

   The enemies of President Clinton ask, "What are they afraid will
   happen if witnesses are called? Let's go ahead and follow through with
   a full-scale trial!"
   
   One thing we are afraid of is this: Witnesses will multiply personal
   destruction, and this will bad for the country, as bitterness and
   recrimination abound. Here's what will happen if witnesses are called:
   
   The Clinton team will call Kenneth Starr, and he will be destroyed. On
   national television he will be roasted alive, as the full extent of
   prosecutorial abuse is discovered and revealed. The capture of Monica
   Lewinsky at the Ritz-Carlton, the forcing of mother to testify against
   daughter, the cold-hearted pursuit of "truth" by any means possible
   will be detailed in all its revulsion. The words "Hitler" and
   "Gestapo" will be used, appropriately.
   
   Everybody close to the Starr investigation, including numerous
   Republican Congressmen and some Senators, will suffer damage to their
   reputations. The whole investigation stinks, and the smell will be
   hard to remove, like that of a skunk.
   
   The Clinton team will call Linda Tripp, and she will be destroyed. The
   words "treachery," "deceitfulness," "obtaining evidence illegally,"
   and others much stronger will be applied to her, correctly. Along with
   Kenneth Starr, she will become personally demonized for her crucial
   role in this entire fiasco.
   
   The longer the trial continues, the more people will be hurt, as they
   become linked to the tainted Starr investigation and the conspiracy
   behind it.
   
   And after all the witnesses are called, it will still be impossible to
   prove Clinton guilty of any crime beyond a reasonable doubt. Thus his
   ultimate acquittal is assured under our system of justice.
   
   So why continue the trial? Its outcome is already determined. The
   prosecution has already made its case, and their case is insufficient
   to convict. Any new evidence from Monica Lewinsky will be tainted by
   intimidation and will be of no value to the prosecution.
   
   I urge you avoid further political bloodshed. VOTE TO DISMISS TODAY!
