"I AM RUNNING FOR ELECTION, AND I NEED YOUR HELP TO WIN." - Rev. Bill McGinnis

The election process to create a new Local Station Board at each of the five Pacifica radio stations, and a new national board of directors for the Pacifica Foundation is now under way. (November, 2003)

For complete details, please see http://pacifica.org/elections/

I am seeking election to the Local Station Board (LSB) at WPFW, Pacifica Radio in Washington, DC. With these upcoming elections at WPFW and the other Pacifica radio stations, the Pacifica Foundation will become the most democratic media organization in the world, with ultimate control exercised by its Listener-Members, acting through their elected representatives on the various Local Station Boards.

As an advocate for democracy myself, I am totally in favor of this happening. And I am appalled and disgusted by the lack of action by our mainstream media and their blind submission to this idiot war in Iraq. (See my message at http://patriot.net/~bmcgin/journalistsredeem.txt)

So I joined WPFW recently and decided to seek election to its Local Station Board, hoping to be an influence for Peace and Justice.

"But where are you coming from? What do you stand for?" you might ask.

I am an American, white, male, divorced, straight, Christian,
Democrat, Internet minister, church choir singer, former
trombonist, Northwestern University graduate, ASE Certified
     Automobile Technician, 60-year-old, anti-war, writer.
I believe we are all God's children, no matter what our
     other differences may be.
I believe that all God's law is fulfilled if we follow this
one teaching: "Love your neighbor as yourself," with the
understanding that "everyone is your neighbor." This means
we are to love all people. My main website is LoveAllPeople.org.
My personal hero is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. because
he sought both peace and justice, and was willing to die
     for them.
In my job, I work everyday with dozens of people from all
over the world, and I enjoy doing that.
I strongly believe that Pacifica Radio can be a guide and
an inspiration to many people worldwide, and I want to be
     an active part of that.
