          "Summary Of Human Ethics In Ten Nine Words"


         "TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED."


   This is "The Golden Rule," God's summary of how He wants all
   people to act towards all other people.

   There is no more perfect summary of human ethics ever
   developed anywhere, at any time.

   The Golden Rule comes from the Bible, directly from the
   teachings of Jesus . . .

      "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men
       should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this
       is the law and the prophets." (Matthew 7:12 KJV)

          . . . so Jesus is saying that The Golden Rule summarizes
          the laws of God and all the teachings of the prophets.

      "And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye
       also to them likewise." (Luke 6:31 KJV)

          . . . this is a restatement of The Golden Rule
          in slightly different words, but the same idea.


   Each of the following expresses The Golden Rule in modern English:


   1. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

   2. "Treat others as you want to be treated."

   3. "Treat other people the way you would like to be treated."

   4. "Treat other people the way you want to be treated."

   5. "Whatever you want people to do to you, do that to them."
   

   Wouldn't it be great if everyone treated you the same way they 
   they would like to be treated, themselves?  Life would be pretty
   wonderful, wouldn't it?

   Well, this is what God wants for all of His children, all of
   us humans on earth.

   I urge all people to adopt The Golden Rule as our basic,
   fundamental standard for behavior with all other people. And I urge
   all people to promote The Golden Rule and encourage all other
   people to use it, all the time.
