DEAFINTL Without E-mail
The most important mission of deafintl is to be a resource that
deaf and hard of hearing people in developing nations can use
to empower themselves. A few of them do have e-mail access, but
most of them don't. That means some of the communities that could
use deafintl the most don't have access to this mailing list. That's
where you could come in. Help bring deafintl to people who
don't have e-mail.
- Volunteer to print out hard copies of some or all
deafintl posts and share them with people in developing countries
who don't have e-mail access.
- If you are IN a developing nation, please try to share deafintl
posts with deaf and hard of hearing people in your country in any
way that you can.
- If you live somewhere else but you know someone from the
deaf community in a developing nation who does not have e-mail
access, you may print out hard copies of any or all deafintl posts
to mail to them. (Hint: you can save on postage costs by printing
on both sides of each page.)
- If you are planning a trip to a developing nation, you may
want to print out some or all posts from the
deafintl archives
to bring with you and share with the deaf organizations you visit
there. (Hint: even better, see if there is a way these organizations
can get e-mail access so they can join deafintl directly.)
- If you know deaf people in developing countries without email access,
please help them participate in deafintl as much as possible. Post to the list any questions,
information, or comments that they give you for deafintl. If you
do this, please clarify who wrote your post. You will be responsible for
making sure that the posts from your contact people follow list rules.
