Top 10

These are the top10 mistakes in orders, often due to differences between Elan and other En Garde! games. More as I think of them....

10. Roleplay in orders - I love it! Details of what you're doing at the party, the gift for courting a mistress, speeches to the troops, are very welcome and give me material to work into the write-up. Really short, concise orders mean I have to make up more stuff. So help me out and be creative!

9. Weekends - we have them, so use them! Roleplay is welcome even if it adds no points.

8. Toadying, This is an arrangement between two gentlemen, and both must order it specific to the other. Party hosts are too busy to be involved with toadying, they get their points a different way. So if you order "attend party and toady", the toadying will not happen.

7. Orders - DO NOT send as attachments. I may not have the program, and you don't want to make more work for the GM. Do You?

6. All and most of Paris lists - yes, they are moderated. This keeps spam from getting through and also gives me the opportunity to address any potential problems.

5. When posting to the list, please DO NOT include the letters you are responding to. Thanks!

4. Elan has on-the-spot duels. Be sure to send me dueling orders & routine.

3. Your stats are your own business. MA, END, EXP may eventually become apparent as the game goes on. But you don't have to tell anyone if you don't want to. :-)

2. Don't forget to check your math for the crowns you are spending. Loans are both fun and easy to get...

1. If you need horses, ORDER TO BUY HORSES!!!! I've dropped enough hints and things will start getting dire.
