Theatre offering =======================================================
Le Theatre de Sois presents "Le Ducs de Hasard". This adventure is the story of two gentlemen and a lady and their whimsical hijinks in the countryside.
Military Announcements =================================================
As this is the beginning of a new season, all troops may return to Paris if they wish to do so.
========================================================================
Mon ami de Treville, your eagerness for the combat is
indeed something to be admired and an example for each and every
Musketeer and soldier in France. But alas, His Majesty has given
me responsibilities that preclude me from continuing at the command
of our brave men. Therefore, and with as much pain in my heart
as comfort in Beatrice's, I must resign the colonelcy of the King's
Musketeers.
Our men are currently at the front; should I just say good-bye
and leave for Paris, not to return to join them in the fight,
their morale would doubtlessly suffer. Therefore, I have decided
to take them back to Paris for a well-deserved rest and, next
month, fresh and under a new commanding officer, maybe circumstances
recommend them to go back to fight for the glory of France or,
on the contrary, maybe they can spend the rest of the season home.
But at least I wish to spend my last days as commanding officer
among those worn barracks which so much comradery have seen.
Of course I don't plan to just pack my valuables and leave:
it is my intention to throw a memorable party to say goodbye to
the men who have been, Beatrice forgive me, my family in the harshest
moments: the King's Musketeers.
Signed,
Le Duc d'Abril
Appointments Sought ====================================================
Marquis Legris, Minister of State
Sir,
I have never considered the world of politics as a career option until I received your letter. As you know, I am a soldier and have always presumed the best way to serve my King and Country was on the field of Mars. Now however, I am considering your words carefully.
To that end I would ask that you consider me for either the post of Minister of Justice, Minister without Portfolio or Chancellor of the Exchequer. I will trust to your good judgement to determine which post I would be most suited to fulfill, if any.
I hope my credentials speak for themselves; For my actions in the field I have been raised to the nobility, promoted, commended for bravery and conferred with a medal. I also orchestrated of the rescue of our officers captured by the enemy.
At the time you appoint these positions I will be eligible by way of my military rank and furthermore the King has stated his design to further my rank by conferring the title of Baron upon me during week 1.
Your humble servant,
brevet Brigadier General Megane
Chevalier-Commander GDMD
========================================================================
To the Office of the Adjutant General
Sir
I would be honoured should you consider me for the post of 1 Division commander for the upcoming year
Your Servant
Lt Gen (Bvt) le Comte Daniel de Sparrot CdlC
========================================================================
To: Lt. General le Vicomte de Creuse, Inspector General of Cavalry
My Lord,
Since it is time for the yearly appointments of Brigadier
I would like to make it clear I would like to stay on in my position,
I am prepared to leave the position as commander of CPC should
that make the decision easier. If for some reason the Heavy Brigade
is unavailable I could accept another Brigade.
Yours to command,
Brigadier Jean d'Acier
========================================================================
To the Inspector General of His Most Christian Majesty's Army
Words cannot express the loss our army has suffered with the untimely death of Brigadier Laffont in July. A brave and insightful leader of men, he will be sorely missed in future actions.
Therefore I humbly offer my services to fill the vacant position as Brigadier of the Dragoon Brigade, should you see fit.
I believe sir, that my past record speaks for itself, and hope that you would agree that my length of service at the Front, for which I was raised to the Nobility by The King, makes me more the ideal candidate for such an appointment.
I remain the King's humble servant,
Chevalier Megane
Commanding Officer, GDMD
========================================================================
Chevalier Borget Gamut, Cavalry Division Commander
Sir,
I wish to submit my application to you forthwith for the position of Division Adjutant, as you are the Cavalry Division Commander and such applications are within your purview. My record of service is, I believe, an excellent example of bravery under fire and support of the command and leadership of my unit. As such, it seems to me that the position of Division Adjutant would be an appropriate and natural one for myself.
Lt Col Desacroix, GDMD
========================================================================
General D'Acier,
Having served successfully as your Regimental Adjutant during my tenure as a Captain, I feel that I can also serve the army well as a Brigade Major during your tenure as a Brigade Commander.
Respectfully and in friendship,
- -Major Pierre

possible and impossible to assist you in the battle and help you
administrate our regiment.
Yours truly,
Captain Louis Lefuet, RFG

Greetings General d'Acier,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve with the fine men of the CPC. I am writing to you because I have noticed there is an opening for an adjuntant. Your servant,
