May our Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless you as you walk with Him. * * * We Have Scriptural Authority To Exercise Power Over Unclean Spirits, In The Name Of Jesus Christ If we are true disciples of Jesus Christ, He has given us the authority to exercise power over unclean spirits of all kinds, in His name. These include Satan, his demons, and the spirits of all the various sicknesses and diseases. Printed below is an official notice, from us to them, declaring and explaining our authority over them, according to God. Unclean spirits need to know that we have legitimate authority over them, from God. "And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are ye?" (Acts 19:15 KJV) This notice explains it to them. If you would like to participate with me in delivering people from unclean spirits, then I invite you to make this notice (below) your own, by removing my name and writing in *your* name on the third line. WARNING: Make sure that all the statements apply to you, and be advised that there is real danger involved if you do not actually meet all the requirements regarding faith in Jesus and forgiveness. * * * NOTICE: TO ALL UNCLEAN SPIRITS INCLUDING SATAN, HIS DEMONS, AND THE SPIRITS OF ALL THE VARIOUS SICKNESSES AND DISEASES MY NAME IS BILL MCGINNIS. Next, I am continuously forgiven of my sins, as they occur. Therefore at any moment I stand justified before God, by His grace, by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus, I am a true disciple of Jesus. When He forgives us, He forgives us completely, "as far as the east is from the west." "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." (Psalms 103:12 KJV) He instructs us to forgive others again and again when they sin against us . . . "Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven." (Matthew 18:21-22 KJV) . . . and He will then forgive us the same way. "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: "But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 10:1 (KJV) And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Matthew 10:8 (KJV) (Jesus to the twelve disciples) Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Then, He gave it to His appointed seventy people. Luke 10:19 KJV (Jesus to His appointed seventy people) Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Finally, He gives this authority to all His true disciples, those who stand blameless before Him, by His grace. Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV) (Power extended to new disciples) 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. NOTE: Among the "all things whatsoever I have commanded you" are included the instructions to "heal the sick" and "cast out devils" given in Matthew 10:8, above. Mark 16:17-18 (KJV) (Power of believers to cast out demons) 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. This authority also includes the power to bind the unclean spirits and to loose whatever they have bound. Matthew 18:18 (KJV) Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Since it is the Lord's intention that we act against unclean spirits, He will make it possible for us to do so, even from a distance, just as Jesus did in the cases of The Nobleman's Son (John 4:46-53) and the Canaanite's Daughter (Matthew 15:22-28). "For with God nothing shall be impossible." (Luke 1:37 KJV) " . . . for with God all things are possible." (Mark 10:27 KJV) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- HOW TO RESIST DEMONIC ATTACK It is the experience of many Christians that if you disturb Satan or start to be successful against him in some way, he will launch an attack of some sort against you, to try to stop your efforts. Do not be startled or discouraged if this happens to you. The Lord has provided ample means for us to triumph over Satan. Here is what I recommend. This is taken from a recent letter I wrote to someone under attack from Satan . . . As long as we just sit in the corner and sing songs to ourselves, we do not threaten Satan and he does not need to attack. But as soon as we actually *do* something to interfere with him, He tries to stop us. So the fact that he's attacking you means that you are doing something important against him. Congratulations! Now it is possible for you to get drawn into a continuous round of skirmishing with Satan, putting on this armor and that, invoking various "warrior angels," battling him here and there, like a one-armed paper hanger swatting flies. This is very distracting for you, and it is *exactly* what Satan wants you to do. He has been going against me lately, too, as I have been expanding my efforts into deliverance. Here's how I am dealing with him. The encounter goes something like this: First, I recognize an attack for what it is and call on the Lord to renew and refresh the authority over unclean spirits that He has given to me (and to you) as a true disciple of His. Then, I speak directly to Satan, not bothering with any of his stooges, and cheerfully admit to all the terrible things he accuses me of. "Yes, Satan, I *am* a sinner, one of the worst! The truth is that I am guilty of almost anything you can name. By myself, I am nothing but a filthy evil person, doomed to hell, and rightfully so. However, I am not by myself! I love the Lord Jesus Christ, and I have given myself to Him. Therefore, His blood cleanses me from all sin, and I am spotless in His sight, as scripture says . . . ' . . . and the blood of Jesus Christ his son cleanseth us from all sin.' (1 John 1:7 KJV) "Moreover, I forgive everyone of all their trespasses against me, so He forgives me all of my trespasses against Him, as scripture says . . . ' . . . forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.' (Luke 6:37 KJV) "Therefore, He continues to forgive me, even as I continue to sin. So you, Satan, have no power over me. The fact is, I have power over *you* and all other unclean spirits, as scripture says . . . A. --------------------------------------------------------- SOME FURTHER NOTES (from a letter) Hello Nxxxx, It's good to hear from you. We certainly don't want to establish any kind of "social" relationship with Satan or his demons, but we do sometimes need to communicate with them, and we can do this simply by addressing them and speaking. The simple fact is that we as Christians have authority over them, and they know it. But if we somehow doubt our authority ourselves, we lose it. So they try to make us doubt, usually by accusing us of some sin or other. "You can't possibly control us, because you are unworthy yourself! Remember when you did this and that? How can you presume to act in behalf of Jesus when you are such an evil person yourself?" The easiest way around this is to admit your sin, but remind Satan that the blood of Jesus washes away all sin. And since you forgive everybody of their sins against you, God has forgiven you of all your sins against Him, as He promised. So even though you are a sinner, you still have authority over him (Satan) within your sphere of influence.! Your sphere of influence is everything that directly touches you. If someone asks for your help, they have connected with you and voluntarily joined with you. Your sphere of influence now extends to them. (This is the same spiritual principle by which Jesus comes into our lives, when we ask Him to!) Also, be sure not to get too excited and attack Satan. If you attack him, he is entitled somehow to retaliate, and God will not necessarily protect you. There is some kind of entitlement going on between God and Satan. God is all-powerful and created everything. This means that He created Satan and permits him to exist and function. Why? Who knows! So even though we oppose Satan, we owe him some kind of respect, as opposing armies frequently respect each other, even though they are mortal enemies. Now let me turn to your question: does Satan attack the remaining family members? Yes, he does. But you, yourself, can assume your Mother's role. Remember in the Apostle's Creed, when they talk about "communion of saints?" This means that you yourself can talk to your Mom, on the spiritual level. Ask her to give you her role. She will do it. Then be sure to forgive everybody of all their offenses against you. (The whole thing falls apart if you cannot forgive.) Then deal directly with Satan and tell him to leave your family alone. Bind him so he is impotent against you. Another thing: you can ask the Lord to build a hedge around you like He built around Job at first, to keep Satan out. Enough for now. "Binding a spirit" is restricting his activity so his ability to do harm is limited. The spirit remains where he was, but his powers are lessened by being bound. 2. Both binding and casting out are accomplished by directly addressing the spirit involved, and issuing a command to him, in the name and by the authority of Jesus Christ. You issue a command, and you state your authority. 3. Satan and all other unclean spirits have the right and the authority to operate wherever they are invited or permitted. If you resist the devil, he will flee; but if you do not resist, then he is welcome and has authority to stay. 4. Satan and the other unclean spirits are agggressive. They pressure you, barge in, intrude wherever they are not resisted. 5. Jesus gave us the authority to cast out and bind, in His name. We are supposed to do it ourselves, not ask God to do it. 6. Be specific wherever possible. Name the person or place involved, identify the spirit(s) involved. 7.
