Doug speaking at Lafayette Park in Washington, DCDoug McVay is a writer, photographer, drug policy maven, freelance PR phreak, computer geek/webmaster, guerrilla marketer, music collector (and sometime critic), jazz fan, and occasional expert witness. His work has been published in places like High Times, Vinyl Exchange, and Underground Beat. He is also the author of the essay Marijuana Legalization: The Time is Now published in the book The Drug Legalization Debate (Sage Press, 1990, Dr. James Inciardi, ed.). (Titles have never been Doug's strength.) Doug is the Research Director and Projects Coordinator for Common Sense for Drug Policy, a nonprofit policy research organization based in Falls Church, VA. He also compiles and edits the publication Drug War Facts. Doug also does freelance editing, writing, and research. He was the Projects Coordinator for NORML from 1987 to 1990 and a member of the NORML Board of Directors from 1991 to 1992. Doug is one of the founders of the Cannabis Action Network.

Examples of photography are available. A love of music inspires the shots of musicians and festivals; a love of beauty, the shots of flowers and other scenes from nature; and a love of travel and touring, the vacation scenes.
